Are You Ready to Conquer the CFT?

Combat Fitness Training for the Combat Fitness Test (CFT) season is here, and it's time to prepare yourself for this challenging test.  

The CFT assesses muscular endurance, agility, and anaerobic capacity, which are crucial for combat performance and consist of key elements of training to include to maximize overall performance see the quick tips for an improved CFT: 

  • Focus on higher purpose, remember why you are training and who you are training for. If you remember your sense of purpose in training and in life, you gain inner strength to push yourself harder and focus on maximum output. 

  • Train as a unit or with others to increase accountability and enhance positive motivational energy. Having a training partner with shared goals helps alleviate some of the negative stress associated with rigorous training.  

Training for the CFT does not just improve physical performance. It also has brain-based benefits; research has shown that maximal output training increases executive function, the ability to make good decisions, which is foundation rewarding and self-sufficient life. Lastly, performance-based training also increases determination and improves mood.
