Information, Referral and Relocation (IR&R) is a one-stop shop, designed to meet the challenges of the mobile military lifestyle by expanding access to resources on- and off-installation.

IR&R staff are available to provide individualized assistance with locating information, resources, and referrals, and serve as a liaison between service members and their families and local resources.

Relocation services is a mission essential activity that supports Marines and their families’ mental and physical readiness. It reduces the stress related to frequent permanent change of station (PCS) relocations, which are an inherent part of the mobile military lifestyle. Relocation services are structured to make the relocation process as smooth as possible.

Services include:

Lending Locker: Basic household items are available to sustain you while awaiting your household goods. These items are issued to outgoing and incoming. Items can be checked out for 30 days.

Commander’s Welcome Aboard Brief: Attendance is mandatory for Marines in the ranks of E1-E6, WO-CWO2, and O1-O2 within 90 days of arrival. All ranks are encouraged to attend. This brief helps Marines and families adapt to their new duty station and the surrounding area.

PCS Workshop (CONUS/OCONUS): These workshops, held twice a month, provide destination area information and preparation tips, with an emphasis on household goods moving and budgeting, moving with pets, housing availability, school liaison, child care, spouse employment opportunities, government travel card regulations, sponsorship information, and resiliency resources. Attendance is mandatory for all ranks 90 days before the PCS move to ensure service members and families receive the latest updates from subject matter experts.

Sponsorship Program: A sponsor supports and assists the newcomer before, during, and after a move. IR&R staff can assist with obtaining a sponsor.
