STARS - Transition is a Family Affair

STARS - Transition is a Family Affair

Transition is a milestone moment in the Marine Corps, and it includes the entire family. Whether your Marine is retiring after 30 years of service or moving on to opportunities in the civilian world, transition is a journey for the entire family. Spouse Transition and Readiness Seminar (STARS) was designed to prepare you for your transition to civilian life because transition is a family affair.

STARS connects the spouses of retiring or a separating Marine with subject matter experts on topics such as education and career programs, health and insurance benefits, entitlements, and finances. STARS supplements the Transition Readiness Seminar (TRS) with information provided from the spouse perspective. Modules include topics such as navigating transition, education and career opportunities, finances, and benefits.

Spouses have described STARS as “informative” and “a connection to resources for all my questions on transition.” It is your opportunity to gain insight into the transition process and prepare for civilian life. After all, transition is a family affair.

Connect with your installation Family Member Employment Assistance Program for STARS schedules and additional information.
