Tsunami Swim Team (Winter/Spring Season)
Aquatics Tsunami Swim Team is available for athletes ages 5-18 for the Winter/Spring Season from January 13 - April 13, 2025, at the IronWorks South Gym Indoor Pool (subject to change due to scheduled renovations). Join the swim team to enhance technical skills, foster social development, and embrace an active lifestyle.
Athletes are required to pass a swim test and evaluations before joining the team. These include demonstrating a full, proper 50-meter freestyle and a minimum 25-meter backstroke. Evaluations will take place during the first week of the season. (Please note that while meeting the minimum requirements does make swimmers eligible for the team, it does not guarantee a spot due to the limited availability of volunteer coaches.)
- Registration is open from December 9 at 6 PM until January 17 at 5 PM.

- New Athletes: $100
- Returning Fall 2024 Athletes: $25

- Uni (Sea Urchins) - Beginner
- Unagi (Eels) - Intermediate 1
- Tako (Octopus) - Intermediate 2
- Same (Sharks) - Advanced/High School
Practice Schedule:
- Same Team - 3:15-4:45 PM | Mon - Thu
- Uni Team - 3:30-4:30 PM | Mon & Wed
- Unagi Team - 4:45-5:45 PM | Mon - Wed
- Tako Team - 4:45-6:15 PM | Mon - Thu
Late Entry
Latecomers are welcome to join the swim team.

Volunteer Coaches Needed
If you are interested in coaching, Aquatics is looking for swim coaches. Please email OMBIwakuni.Aquatics@usmc-mccs.org to receive a volunteer application. Aquatics will provide a LOA after the season.
Swim Team By-Laws:
Tsunami Swim Team By-Laws will be distributed once the athletes have been assigned to their respective team categories.
Swim Attire:
- Swim Team attire is available for purchase at the swim outlet store: https://www.swimoutlet.com/collections/iwakunitsunami
- Athletes will be required to purchase team swimsuits and goggles on their own.
- Aquatics will provide a Tsunami swim cap and t-shirts for New Athletes only.
