Budgeting for Summer Vacation

Budgeting for Summer Vacation

Don’t let budgeting for a summer vacation be overwhelming. Here are some tips to help you plan a fun and affordable trip.

  • Set a spending limit for your trip and start saving now in a separate account to avoid putting the trip on your credit card.

  • Pick a destination that fits your budget.

  • Plan ahead and book early. Reserve your hotel/travel in advance to avoid price hikes.

  • Be flexible with your travel dates and times. Explore Space A flights.

  • Check your local community for free events like street festivals, hiking, family sports day, or outdoor movies.

  • Visit the MCCS website for activities and events at your local installation.

  • Military discounts are available for airlines/rail, hotels, attraction tickets, and more.

  • Save on food and drinks by visiting a grocery store for meals and snacks during your vacation.

  • Visit your local library to borrow books, DVDs, video games, etc.

  • If a long vacation is not an option, consider short getaways.
